How did the artists influence each other?Was the relationship an advantage or even a hindrance to their artistic work? The concert programme The Genius of Lovers introduces three artist couples from the 19th and 20th centuries: Robert & Clara Schumann, Gustav & Alma Mahler and Claire Delbos & Olivier Messiaen. In addition to a selection of well-known pieces, the programme offers a number of rarities from the art song and piano repertoire, such as the song cycle 'Primèvere' by Claire Delbos and the 'Adagietto' from Gustav Mahler's Fifth Symphony, arranged for solo piano.The audience is invited to get to know the composer couples from a new perspective and to immerse themselves in their world of music. Are the couples at eye level or are they in each other's shadow? A question for the listeners to decide...

Die in Hannover aufgewachsene Sopranistin Sofia Livotov ist eine international gefragte Opern- und Konzertsängerin, die sich in Kunstlied, Oper und zeitgenössischer Musik gleichermaßen zu Hause fühlt. Sofia trat an Konzertorten wie der Tonhalle Zürich, dem Oxford Lieder Festival, dem Southbank Centre London, TivoliVredenburg und der Konzertbühne in Jakarta auf. Seit 2022 steht Sofia auf der Bühne der Opera North in Leeds und war in Produktionen wie "Das schlaue Füchslein", "La Rondine" und "Simon Boccanegra" zu erleben. Zu ihren jüngsten Engagements zählen Auftritte mit dem English Symphony Orchestra, dem Orchester des Wandels, bei der Leeds International Concert Series sowie die Solopartien in Mendelssohns Oratorien "Elias" und "Paulus" mit dem Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir, der Halifax Choral Society und der Bradford Festival Choral Society. Sofia trat mit international renommierten Ensembles auf, darunter den Festival Strings Lucerne, dem Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich und der Sinfonietta Zürich. Neben zeitgenössischen Opernproduktionen am Luzerner Theater und am Tête à Tête Festival in London, stand sie unter anderem als Pamina, Musetta, Adina, Micaela und Yvette auf der Bühne. Sofia ist Stipendiatin Schweizer, deutscher und britischer Stiftungen und absolvierte ihr Gesangsstudium an der Hochschule Musik Luzern und am Conservatorium van Amsterdam bei Valérie Guillorit.
