German soprano Sofia Livotov combines a radiant, agile voice with stylistic versatility across repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, she performs internationally across opera, oratorio and art song.

A bursary recipient of the International Opera Awards Foundation and a prize-winner of the London Classical Music Competition, she has performed with opera companies including the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Opera North. Her concert and recital appearances include venues and festivals such as the Southbank Centre in London, Tonhalle Zürich and the Oxford Song Festival.

We fell in love with the beauty and tranquillity of the island (we were even lucky enough to spot a few dolphins!) and we very much appreciated the warm welcome from the Jersey Symphony Orchestra.

We'll definitely be back for more singing and to explore the island further. It's no surprise that Debussy was inspired by it while composing La Mer!

Thanks to the @islandribvoyages for a lovely morning boat tour along the north coast before spending the afternoon at the @durrell_jerseyzoo - one perfect day!

From concerts in Indonesia and performing the soprano solo in Verdi's Requiem for the first time, to Britten's Peter Grimes at @operanorth and Zappa's 200 Motels at @grandtheatregeneve, I loved the variety of the season and making music with so many incredible colleagues.

I'm also delighted that the Strings4All project of the non-profit organisation @harmonicprogression_classical, which I'm proud to be part of, has grown immensely this season, supporting more and more musicians around the world with instrument strings.
